I almost forgot

I forgot to mention that Avis (Carl's mom) has invited Carl and I to some gala event at the Galleria in a few weeks. It's $100 a plate (her treat). I hardly know what to think, but I'm glad she's taking some initiative to get to know me better. She has invited Aubrey and I out to the lake house, too, when it's finished.

Carl's dad and step-mom invited us down to the Shawn Colvin concert in Austin in May. I got front row tickets for $30 each!! That's such a bargain. I can hardly wait. I adore Shawn Colvin's voice and style and have really come to identify with her bitter-sweet songs. Good things coming down the pipe. Life is good.
