Perspective

When you stand too close to a painting, all you see are patches of color. When you stand too far away from it, you see none of the detail.

So it is with problems in our lives. Are you too close to your problem? Or are you distancing yourself from the things that provide you with a better look at the issue? That's perspective I suppose. Where are you supposed to stand?

Or, I suppose it could be like a bonfire. You stand too close and you get singed and you stand too far away and you get no warmth. So you choose a spot that provides both a safe distance from the flames but you still feel warm. Too bad figuring out where to stand on our problems isn't that easy to be determined. Oh, we can get burned if we stand too close to them. That's for sure. But what is a safe distance where we don't withdraw too far?

Ahhhh pondering. I hate it when I have all these thoughts and no thoughts of sleep. :)
