The Creature Pool
Since we moved into this house, we have seen a host of wildlife in our pool. Among the dead creatures include squirrels, possums, rats, mice, miscellaneous bugs, and birds. The living wildlife however has been much more interesting. We have seen frogs and toads and now we have night time visitors that swoop down from the heavens, skim the water's surface and drink. We have bats. The last few nights we have been out swimming after dark and the bats come down and drink. It's really an amazing sight. We float very quietly at the far (deep) end of the pool and the bats come from the shallow side, swoop down, dip and fly off right over our heads. It is the coolest thing ever. I love our small wildlife refuge.
